Running tights form part of the stable runner’s wardrobe and should provide compression, controlled heat regulation and protection from cold climate conditions.

ashmei’s running tight for men has been developed combining two materials to maximise the performance required within different areas of the legs. We call this mix of materials within one garment 360º Mapping and have selected the highest performance fabrics from the best mills around world.
 
On the upper half of the tight we have used a technical merino wool and nylon spandex fleece  material that maximises the performance potential of the wearer by regulating the core body temperature of the thigh muscle. The merino content of this material sits next to the skin and actively absorbs perspiration vapour and then releases these to the outside environment before they have a chance to and turn to liquid. This keeps the tight drier and therefore stops the muscles chilling allowing the muscle to maintain performance.

Our merino is the finest in the world and as such does not cause any “itchy, scratchy” feeling associated with normal wool garments commonly known as “prickle”. Merino is also a natural yarn and  has natural anti microbial properties which mean no extra nasty chemicals are required to contain the bacteria growth which guarantees they will stay as fresh as the day you purchased them and is a sustainable source.

We have mixed some performance nylon spandex yarns with the merino to increase pilling resistance and provide the stretch required for a running tight that offers slight compression to the muscle to help maintain performance. The mix of the merino and nylon spandex also offers some resistance to wind and water that help prevent heat loss and eventually leads to a feeling of exhaustion and fatigue.

All the seams have been manufactured using a flatlock stitch that reduces bulk and prevents them from chaffing and becoming uncomfortable without reducing stretch.

The lower half of the tight has been engineered using performance wicking fibres mixed with a high content of stretch finished with a durable water resistant treatment for those wet days where puddles line your running path or the fell kicks up dirt to make a mountain biker proud.

The tight has long leg zips to allow easy access and the cuffs are finished on the inside with some silicone gripper elastic to stop the tight rising up when running. There is a small zipped storage pocket large enough so your house keys or i-Pod and the elasticated waist is finished off with a cord for adjustment.
